Talks from the Headteacher

Our Open Evening is an opportunity for students who wish to join Year 12 in September 2018 to view the school and meet staff and students.

Presentations by the Headteacher Dr Minards, the Head of Sixth Form Miss Harper and Sixth Form Student Ambassadors.
This will take place at 6.45pm, 7.15pm and 7.45pm and everyone is welcome to attend.

Additional Talks

During the evening there will also be a range of additional talks which everyone is welcome to attend:

  • Introductions to each A Level course content and the transition from GCSE
  • Members of the Sixth Form team to discuss the transition to Sixth Form
  • Advice from our Early UCAS Applicant Advisors (focused on Oxford, Cambridge, Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary applications)
  • A university officer will be officer will be running a session on selecting A Levels courses
  • Duke of Edinburgh representatives for students interested in pursuing Gold DofE
  • Learn more about the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) which is a research based qualification

Another outstanding year of Exam Results

Year 13 students from Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls are celebrating another record breaking year as A Level results continue to rise.

  • 51.5% of all entries were awarded the top grades of A*/A.
  • 28 of the 95 A-Level students achieved the fantastic outcome of A* and A grades across all subjects.
  • A*-B grades rose significantly totalling 86.3% of all entries.
  • The overall pass rate (A* - E) was 100%
