I am delighted to take this opportunity to introduce you to our school.
Established over 80 years ago, the school has developed both in size and prestige. Today we are a thriving community, celebrated for our academic excellence, creativity and enrichment opportunities. Above all, we pride ourselves on attaining the highest standards; promoted through personal care and encouragement and achieved through respect for tradition and openness to innovation.
A supportive and welcoming environment, a dedicated staff and a rich mix of activities make for a stimulating and rewarding education within the school. We encourage each girl to develop a variety of practical skills, an enquiring mind, a range of interests and consideration for others. Our belief in the moral purpose of the learning experience we provide is summed up by our school motto: ‘Not for our own advantage but for the common good’. We provide an extensive range of opportunities so that our students flourish as thoughtful, caring, confident and assured young adults ready to begin the next stage of their lives.
Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls has a wonderful tradition and an exciting future as we prepare our students to meet the challenges of the 21st century with confidence. Our students are the leaders of the future; in the professions, the community and the country. Our provision ensures academic excellence, community involvement and unique opportunities for our students to further develop their leadership skills.
This website offers a flavour of the balance which we seek to achieve between hard work, personal responsibility and enjoyment. I hope that you will want to share in our success and become part of our vibrant school community. The most effective way of finding out what our school offers is to visit us and I very much look forward to meeting you.
