Governors
The Role Of The Governors
There are various principles, structures and rules which guide the Governing Body’s actions and procedures.
However, simplistically, the Governing Body has the role of assisting, constructively challenging, setting targets, and monitoring the performance of the school and its strategic direction - working with the senior management of the school.
Who Are The Governors?
The Governors are a broad mix of individuals, drawn from:
The parents
The staff
The community

Complaints committee
Appeals committee
‘First Committee’ - ultimate appeals committee
When The Governors Meet
A set programme of meetings is established for each school year.
Typically the full Governing Body meets once per term, with powers delegated down to sub committees which meet a minimum of once per term.
The governors, or meetings of the extra statutory committees can and do meet at other times if needs arise.
Contact The Governors
The Governors welcome and value comments on the school. Any Governor is happy to listen and receive views, explain issues, or if the area of your query is not known to them seek to ensure that an appropriate Governor or member of the school contacts you.
Please feel free to contact the Chair of Governors via the school:

Are You Interested In Joining The Governing Body?
The Governing Body is a dynamic structure, which relies on a continuing influx of members to replace those who retire at the end of their term of office. New Governors ensure diversity, fresh opinions, new views and ideas, and ensure that the strategy and direction of the school remains relevant to the needs of the pupils and community.
There are different categories of Governor, and vacancies in each category are filled in different ways. Where parent Governor vacancies arise letters are sent to current parents to invite applications to commence the process.
If you feel you may wish to become a future Governor, please feel free to contact Mrs N. Lloyd, the Chair of Governors.
