SIMS Learning Gateway
All schools have a database in which student information is stored and this information is accessed through software called a Management Information System (MIS). The SIMS Learning Gateway (SLG) Parent site enables parents to access the SIMS school database over the Internet.
SIMS Learning Gateway is a secured website that will give parents access to thier daughter’s information. As you may appreciate this information is sensitive so the system will require authentication to access it. Requests for email addresses will be sent out to parents by letter nearer the launch date. Only information that is relevant to an individual will be displayed, and all information is encrypted. Once parents have access to the system they will able to view all relevant information held on the school records system relevent to their child(ren), such as attendance and assessment.
We are pleased to inform you an update has been applied that will provide the following:
• SLG will be enhanced to provide access to Assessment i.e. digital copy of printed reports. Reports will be delivered to end users as Adobe PDF files e.g. End of Year reports can be viewed as a digital file (in addition to printed copies).
• The display, presentation and navigation of data will be improved.
• New attendance displays will also be added.
