Biology
Our department aims to develop future biologists who are curious, resilient, and ready to make a positive impact on the world around them. We encourage students to embrace challenge, think deeply, and understand how biology connects to real-world issues.
A strong biologist grasps the big ideas of biology and can apply this knowledge to new and varied situations, both practically and in writing. Our curriculum fosters independence, organisation, and scientific literacy. Students learn to communicate their understanding clearly across different contexts.
We are committed to nurturing outstanding scientists who confidently follow the scientific process – from planning valid experiments to selecting the right equipment, collecting precise data, and analysing results with mathematical tools and well-reasoned conclusions.
Our curriculum not only prepares students for further study or careers in biology but also empowers them to engage thoughtfully with biological issues in the wider world.
