This year, we were excited to launch our first-ever Sixth Form Conference. The conference provided a valuable opportunity for students to reflect on their goals, develop effective learning habits and gain practical strategies to help them thrive throughout their Sixth Form studies.
Our Year 12 students enjoyed a keynote address from Martin Griffin, teacher, writer and co-creator of the VESPA mindset, who shared insights into the attitudes and approaches that enable students to achieve their full potential. This was supported by engaging workshops exploring motivation, goal-setting and how students can make the most of the wide range of opportunities available during their Sixth Form experience.
Students in both Year 12 and Year 13 also took part in training delivered by Made Training, in sessions on ‘Stepping Up’ and ‘Incremental Gains’. These thought-provoking sessions encouraged students to consider how small, consistent improvements and positive daily habits can have a significant impact on long-term success. Together, the sessions reinforced the resilience, independence and commitment that underpin academic achievement and commitment to a growth mindset within our Sixth Form community.
