Student volunteers at vaccination centre
Year 12 student Sophie volunteers with St. John's Ambulance during lockdown
During the recent lockdown period, Sophie was keen to do some volunteering in our local community. She applied for a role with St John’s Ambulance as a vaccinator care volunteer. After a successful application and interview, Sophie had online and face to face training. This weekend (20th March), she completed her first volunteering shift at Millennium Point (during this time, almost 800 people were vaccinated).
Sophie is passionate about pursuing a career in medicine and through this role and training she is enjoying supporting and caring for members of the public. We feel Sophie has worked really hard during the last few months to manage her school work but also to contribute to the pandemic positively.
On the 3rd of April, she will be at Villa Park vaccination centre.
