Tunnock's Teacake Challenge

The Tunnock's Teacake Challenge is an annual food styling and presentation competition primarily aimed at secondary school students in the UK, but has had entries from further afield.

Organised by the Food Teachers Centre and officially sponsored by Tunnock's, the challenge tasks students with transforming a single, iconic chocolate and marshmallow Tunnock's Teacake into a high-end masterpiece to meet the theme for this year 'Around the world in a bite'.

There were some fantastic efforts from our Year 9 students this year which made it extremely difficult to only be able to choose 2 to enter into the external competition.

Jessica and Isla's creations were chosen to be put forward and this week we had the fantastic news that Jess came 1^st in the over 14s category with her World Cup design and Isla came 2^nd in the novelty category with her fish and chips!

They were both awarded a certificate, and we await the price on its way from Tunnocks!
