It's incredible to see the popularity of after school rugby club growing. Our coach Russell has been working with us from Veseyans Rugby club for many years and we are very proud of the school club link we have developed. We have at least 6 of our students playing for the club outside of school and we hope that this will continue to grow. Big thanks to Sarah, Poppy, Olivia and Isabella for working hard to increase participation numbers this year!

Birmingham Schools' success sees our U16 netball team through to the regional stage of the competition. The team comprising of Year 10 and 11 students convincingly won all their matches storming through the pools stage, to the semi-final and final. Their victories saw them beat Plantsbrook, King Edwards Camp Hill, King Edwards High School, Arthur Terry and Edgbaston High School. The team's spirit was unbreakable despite miserable weather conditions. The team have had their sights set on winning this competition for some time - we are so proud of their performance and progression to the next round. Well done all!

This afternoon, we had 15 students join The National Literacy Trust and British Council in an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for "the most people reading online within a 12-hour period." There was also an appearance and short talk from award winning author and screenwriter, Frank Cottrell-Boyce, who read from his latest book "The Blockbusters!" 🤞 Hopefully we'll find out soon if we've helped to set the record!🤞

Our Year 12 Biologists bought in the cell ultra-structure projects today and they're amazing! With models constructed of clay, polystyrene, cake, and crochet, we also had some hilarious (and scientifically accurate) videos, all depicting the structure and functions of plant and animal cells!

Choosing a Sixth Form is one of the most important decisions students make as they prepare for life beyond Year 11. Join us for our Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 12th November, where students and parents/carers can discover what their Sixth Form journey at Sutton Girls could look like. The event is open to current Year 11 students, prospective applicants from other schools and their parents/carers. We are incredibly proud of our Sixth Form community and the exceptional outcomes our students achieve, with 86.8% of A level grades awarded at A*-B and 63% achieving A*/A grades. Alongside academic success, students benefit from personalised support, extensive enrichment provision and a Sixth Form experience rich in breadth, challenge and choice. Sutton Girls produced an excellent team performance in their District Cup fixture last night against Fortis Academy, coming away with an impressive 11–0 victory! Despite playing away from home with plenty of support behind Fortis Academy, we stayed focused, worked hard for one another and showed fantastic team spirit throughout. Credit also goes to Fortis, who continued to compete and support each other despite the score line. A superb all-round performance from the whole squad: Addison (GK), Erin (C), Darcey, Tilly, Vicky, Billie, Sianna, Amelia H, Amelia L, Matilda, Bethany, Tash and Etta.

Today was our first meeting of the Student Council, lead by our "Making Good Decisions" team of Sixth Form students. It's fantastic to see such representation from the year groups! They've been discussing the use of AI in the classroom and its wider environmental impact, as well as school uniform, planners and moving around the school site during peak times.

🎶I will follow hiiiiiiiim🎶 We can't quite believe it's that time of year already, but tonight we launch the school musical for 2027...SISTER ACT! After the sudden closure of school in March 2020 meant we had to cancel our original run of Sister Act, we are thrilled to be able to bring it back! With over 200 students showing interest in signing up, we can't wait for our revival!
