Head of Sixth Form's Welcome

We are incredibly proud of our Sixth Form and the exceptional opportunities it offers to every student who becomes part of the Sutton Girls community. This is a vibrant, inclusive, and aspirational environment where academic excellence is strengthened by a commitment to personal growth. Students are encouraged to be curious, to embrace challenge, and to strive to be their best self.

At Sutton Girls, our students consistently achieve outstanding A level results. These achievements stem from determination, resilience, and the consistent practice they undertake in preparation for examinations. We also employ the VESPA model to equip students with the habits and behaviours they need to thrive in whichever path they choose next. However, learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. From Science Olympiads and essay competitions to university‑facilitated MOOCs, our students are ambitious and supported to embracing a wide range of opportunities.

Our students frequently speak of their happiness, and they are well supported throughout their Sixth Form journey. The Sixth Form Team works to ensure that every individual feels valued, understood, and empowered to make confident decisions about their future. We believe in the power of a growth mindset, and students are encouraged to view every experience as a chance to learn and flourish.

With high‑quality teaching across a broad range of subject combinations, personalised guidance, and an outstanding selection of extra‑ and super‑curricular opportunities, we nurture ambition, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. As students conclude their time in the Sixth Form, many secure places at prestigious universities and on competitive courses, while others progress into the world of work through a variety of apprenticeship pathways. The strength of our alumni community and the enthusiastic support of former students stand as a testament to the pride that comes with being part of the Sutton Girls Sixth Form.
